Malaga is undoubtedly one of the most amazing cities, so it is not surprising that since we live here, we often talk about it. The old town is attractive in itself, but the Alcazaba is a marvel on its own.

Built in the Nasrid period, this fortress served as the seat of government and is now the best-preserved Muslim military structure in Spain.

Its decoration and structure have earned it the nickname of ‘the little Alhambra’. The Alcazaba has a defensive system of three barriers and is occupied by the remains of a Taifal and a Nasrid palace, a military quarter with eight 11th-century dwellings, baths and a cistern. Without a doubt, a stroll through its interior will take you back to another era.

We recommend that you not miss this visit, and if possible, do it first thing in the morning. The most important thing is to go with a hat and a good dose of sun cream because if you visit in the summer, it is very possible that the sun that you like so much will leave you more toasted than a cutlet.
