It reduces stress, improves mental wellbeing and cognitive function, helps regulate emotions, physical fitness and sleep quality among many other benefits.

As with many things in life, consistency is the key. Doing it two or three times and giving up just doesn’t work. Many thoughts will come to you that you will have to learn to ‘switch off’, and until you practice it regularly, you will not notice its benefits. To be of worth… begin with short sessions and gradually increase the duration as this will help you to establish a sustainable meditation practice by not throwing in the towel.
We suggest finding an experienced meditation teacher, using a meditation app which can provide structure or even joining a group because another thing we find most remarkable and often overlooked is help with social connections.
Many older people face the challenge of social isolation, and participating in meditation groups can help connecting with like-minded people and creating a sense of community.
