According to traditional Chinese medicine, each season is related to an organ, and in spring, the liver works hard to adapt to the seasonal change.

Here are some tips to maintain a healthy liver and prevent symptoms such as fatigue, allergies, sleep disorders, irritability, digestive discomfort and joint pain:

1️⃣ Incorporate fresh, light foods into your diet, such as green leafy vegetables, fresh fruit and cleansing foods (lemon, artichoke, fresh ginger, onion, leeks, celery, fennel, etc.). Eat an early dinner to aid digestion.
2️⃣ Drink herbal teas, such as mint, chamomile and dandelion, which can relieve liver congestion.
3️⃣ Avoid alcohol and fatty foods. Opt for raw extra virgin olive oil to dress your meals.
4️⃣ Take moderate exercise, such as walking, yoga or tai chi, to mobilise the body’s energy and take advantage of the contact with nature.
5️⃣ Manage stress through meditation, massage or acupuncture. Go to bed early and get up early to maintain a good balance.
