Art Gaucin
A full day designed to enjoy the art, culture and slow beauty of Andalusian life — because sometimes the best plan is to leave Marbella for a few hours and pretend we are terribly cultured. Which, on this occasion, we actually will be.
We’ll start the day with a relaxing and easy hiking route to Castillo del Águila, overlooking the spectacular Genal Valley, with views that on a clear day can reach as far as Africa.
After the walk, we’ll continue into the whitewashed village of Gaucín, one of Málaga’s most picturesque mountain towns. During Art Gaucín Open Studios, local and international artists open their studios to visitors, offering a unique opportunity to discover art where it is created, meet the artists in person and experience the village as a living museum.
Flower-filled streets, white houses, mountain views, art studios, conversation and a relaxed lunch — honestly, we have endured worse Saturdays.
Lunch is not included in the excursion price. Estimated lunch cost: €20–30 per person at Restaurante Raíz, Gaucín.
Recommendations:
Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, hat, water and curiosity. The last one is not compulsory, but it helps.
